To celebrate 99 years of independence of the city of Bansko, on October 8th this year, free-minded citizens organised an event nobody here had seen before.
Over a hundred people dressed as soldiers, officers, Bulgarian independence fighters, Bulgarian men, women and children with traditional costumes from this region came together to the square downtown to recreate some of the historical events of 1912.
In the first scene the caracter of Hristo Chernopeev (a Bulgarian revolutionary and member of the revolutionary movement in Macedonia) and his volunteer platoon attacked the ottoman administrative building...
and took over it
Meanwhile the Bulgarian army arrived in Bansko.They were welcomed by the women and children.
